Summary tips to reduce weight

1. Do every day water therapy.

2. Do juice fasting once a week.

3. Do once a month gall-nut cleansing or castor oil cleansing.

4. Eat more leafy and fiber rich vegetables and cut down potato consumption.

5. Eat different  varieties of whole grains  (See Sakthi Kitchen).

6. Avoid white sugar and use  brown sugar, jaggery, palm jaggery and  unrefined sugars ;ile dates and raisins.

7. Every day walk with awareness of breath (See P.B. walking in Fire therapy).

8. As soon as you get up from the bed, make a wish (Sankalpa) that you want  reduce weight and would support all activities to achieve the purpose.

9. Do surya Namaskar everyday with full awareness of the breath with the thought of having a healthy body (See Fire therapy).

10. If needed every day before going to bed take one teaspoon of Triphala powder  in 50 mil of hot water. Leave it for 5 minutes and drink it before going to bed. This will reduce mucus in the body. Ayurveda says mucus in the body tends to put more weight in the body. Triphala reduces mucus or kapha.

          Avoid using left over, refrigerated food and also frozen food. The vitamins are lost during re heating and the body metabolizes the reheated food differently accumulating more mucus or kapha in the body.

         Do walking consciously with breath awareness whenever and wherever possible and spend the calories currency you have saved in the form of fat.

Hot water: Drinking hot water one hour before and after food is a good way to cleanse liver. Drink one tea-cup of really hot water, (drink like drinking hot tea). The hot water will remove mucus from the intestine and also improve digestion. You can add ginger if you need. No sugar in this hot ginger water. Do not drink cold drinks, juices and soft drinks. Cold will destroy the digestive juices and so will add up to weakening liver function.
