                    Hypo-Thyroid

  Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the body lacks sufficient thyroid hormone. Since the main purpose of thyroid hormone is to "run the body's metabolism". Details of the hormone and the cause are given in the links.

We suggest to follow these general recommendations for one month and if you still have problems write to us and we will be able to suggest individualized therapy for you.

Earth Therapy: Effective hypothyroid diets should seek a broad range of natural foods including whole grains,  nuts, and seeds

One Soup /herbal-tea a day for seven days a week:

Prepare these soups or herbal tea fresh and drink for dinner or lunch.

1. One small handful of leaf of Achyranthes aspera. Grind leaves well with water and then make soup. You can add black pepper and sea salt for taste.

2. Boil quarter gram of Withania somnifera root extract also called aswagandha or amukiram . Powder it well, boil it well and drink one tea cup any time of the day.

3. Grind handful of mustard leaves (kadugu) well with water and then make soup. You can add black pepper and sea salt for taste.

4. Boil quarter gram of Withania somnifera root extract also called aswagandha or amukiram . Powder it well, boil it well and drink one tea cup any time of the day.

6. Sida cordifolia – Grind  leaves well with water and then make soup. You can add black pepper and sea salt for taste.

7. Boil quarter gram of Withania somnifera root extract also called aswagandha or amukiram . Powder it well, boil it well and drink one tea cup any time of the day.

One Juice a day for seven days a week:

Drink these fresh juices, one a day and repeat the seven every week. It is easy. Just cut and put in blender with little water and dates if needed, blend and drink.

1. Aloe Vera juice freshly prepared from the plant.   You can mix with carrot juice also and drink it.

2. Coconut milk Do not use canned or bottled. Use fresh. Use  one tenth of a coconut add water and blend it and drink. You may sweeten with dates if you want too.  Be aware you do not have high cholesterol and triglycerides.

3. Ripe papaya juice.

5. Aloe Vera juice

Try using all organically grown foods for best results. 

Before bed time:

Triphala Powder - Strengthen Liver: Everyday night take one teaspoon of Triphala powder in 50 ml of hot water. (Please Click here  to find the link to buy this herb).

Water Therapy :   We generally recommend doing Water Therapy  to cleanse your body and reduce weight to some extent.   Instead of drinking plain room temperature water you can drink luke warm water (with general flavors like  mint leaves, cardamom, ashwagandha, guggul  hibiscus flowers etc   for better results.

Fire Therapy:  Walk twice in the morning and evening. Do Pancha Bhoota walking to relax your mind. The mental irritations and frustrations lead to these health problems and therefore it is good to relax the mind from those negative tendencies. Always be aware of the throat region while observing your breath during walking.

Pancha Bhoota Walking with breath awareness is very good to relax the mind.

Yoga is very good especially Surya Namaskar given in fire section. It helps in good lymphatic circulation.  The throat stretching step in this exercise is highly beneficial to bring back normal levels of thyroid. Be aware of the throat region and the thyroid gland while doing this. Feel good blood circulation and lymphatic circulation while stretching the throat region. The more you stretch the better the blood and lymph circulation to the throat region.

Sun-Therapy: Not being exposed to sun light is one reason for increasing thyroid problem especially in women who are very cosmetic conscious. Fearing getting dark complexion leads women to be exposed less to sunlight which leads to Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is not just for bones as initially thought. We recommend to expose yourself for 15 to 30 minutes in the sun light in the morning (less UV rays in the morning sunlight). You can do walking or Sun Meditation also.

Air therapy: Taking a long breath and relaxes every now and then reduces stress in the body. Doing Pranayama  5 minutes morning and evening is also good.

Space Therapy: Similarly relaxation  of the mind reduces stress.
