Evolution

Whether we like it or not, we are all evolving. Evolving to what?. Evolving to our final form or destination. Our Journey To the Source, Consciousness.

Human life is the story of the Journey to The Source, to know Consciousness. Spiritual seekers call it Enlightenment and seek it . Enlightenment is knowing one's True Self as pure Unconditioned Consciousness. A enquiry mind might ask, why to seek the Self or unconditioned Consciousness?. What is the purpose of such a seeking? Vedanta tells us that the very purpose of life on Earth is to know the Self, because that was the fundamental question that "caused" creation. There was a question that arose "Who Am I?". The "I" caused  the creation of conditioned consciousness and the Journey of search began to know "Who Am I?". The journey ends answering the question "Who Am I?".

Why the question?

If sugar wants to know its sweetness, it has to take a form to experience it sweetness. Similarly Consciousness to know itself took form and this whole creation started.

The answer to the question arrives not with a single step, it is a process and is an evolution. The stages take shape initially in the form of matter (minerals) and then to form plants which then evolve to animals and then to man and finally to Self realized individual and with that the answer is sought which culminates the journey.
