okra (lady's finger) is good for the growth of the child especially
after the seventh month to increase the brain
growth.
BRUSSEL
SPROUT · It is poor on sodium but rich in vitamin A,
B1, C and potassium and good for toxemia of pregnancy. · Its
believed that fresh juice mixed with honey given one hour before labor
pain eases childbirth. RADDISH · Using during pregnancy gives
very effective results.
Greens
AMARANTHUS · Amaranthus soup increases breast milk and tones
up the liver. · Drinking amaranthus fresh juice one cup every
day with honey with a pinch of cardamom during the entire period of
pregnancy helps the normal growth of the baby. · The above
is an excellent preparation, but if one does not like the taste of
raw
juice, then briefly boil the juice and add salt and spices and make
a soup. It acts as a tonic and increases the breast milk.
LETTUCE · During
pregnancy and lactation, lettuce has very important nutritional factor
folic acid, which prevents birth defects.
Eating lettuce regularly by pregnant women prevents nutritional anemias
and habitual abortions. It has influence over progesterone hormones.
Eat regularly lettuce salads with cucumber and apple cider vinegar.

MILLET
(RAGI) · If given during pregnancy, there is no fear
of pregnancy anemias, delayed labor due to uterine inertia and other
post-partum complications, osteomalacia etc. · Eating roasted
green millet is a tonic for high blood pressure, diabetes, liver
diseases, nervousness and lack of milk after childbirth.
GREEN
GRAM (mung dal) · Its regular use during childhood, pregnancy,
lactation helps one to get the required nutrition promote health
and safe guard eyesight. Use the sprouts in salads.
Seeds and nuts
ALMONDS · Eating almonds with honey every morning is a medicine
to cure weakness during pregnancy and lactation. · Paste of
shelled almonds mixed with orange juice and honey is given as a tonic-food
during toxemia of pregnancy.
PEANUTS · Eating
fresh roasted peanuts (groundnuts) with jaggery and goat's milk is
a very nutritious food during pregnancy and lactation.
COCONUT · It is used during treatment of toxemia of pregnancy
with very gratifying results. · The water can be safely given
in general toxemia, of pregnancy.
CASTOR
SEED · It causes watery diarrhoea without causing gripping
or other complications, therefore, castor oil is one of the safest
purgatives that is used all over the world during infancy and childhood,
during pregnancy and oldage. · Using large doses of castor
oil during early months of pregnancy causes abortion therefore, it
should
not be used carelessly but castor oil purgative taken a week earlier
than the expected delivery time helps one to go through the natural
ordeal safely.

SEEDS · Til
seeds should not be given during the first trimester. Later eating
sesame seeds in salads is very good because
it supplies vitamin E.
