Programming a child?
We are the manifestation of the
thoughts of our parents and our child is nothing
but the thoughts of us. The ancient masters have taught us how
our thought process would program our child. They believed that whatever
thoughts are in our minds at the time of conception will transform
themselves like a mirror in the offspring. When a child is in its
mother's womb, the mental disposition of the mother has a deep influence on
the child. There are several evidences for this truth. Well the best proof
is finding from your own mom.
It is said that when Napolean was in his mother's womb, she was very fond of
looking at the soldiers marching in parade. She used to burst with happiness
witnessing the soldiers marching and singing martial songs. Napolean became
a great warrior due to the influence of these Sanskars (mind impressions).
The mother of prince Bismark while expecting him; used to be mentally upset
while witnessing portions of her house being destroyed by the French Army of
Napolean. The result of these strong Sanskars was that Bismark was keen to
take revenge on France.
Indian history is
rich with such examples. Those who have
read "Mahabharat" would know that Abhimanyu learned the skill of
entering a battle field when his dad Arjun narrated it to his pregnant
mother Subhadra .
Madalasa had great passion for knowledge during pregnancy and so all eight
kids became great thinkers and sages. When her husband wanted one
warrior son, she changed the destiny of her 9th son by merely changing her
thought process.
It is said that when Geetu, the
murderer of American president Garfield, was in his mother's womb; the
mother tried to unsuccessfully abort him. The sanskaars of the child while
in the womb made him a killer. So world
history is replete with examples how the thought at conception and during
pregnancy moulds the destiny of the child.
Ancient
Indian marriage system relied on selecting women from good families because
they knew that the family's future generation lied in the thoughts
(mind) of the daughter-in-law. Thus more than a wealthy family they relied
on sanskaar (thought processes) of a family.
We
can now understand the importance of thoughts during
'Conception' and also appreciate the amazing thought process
initiated in Vedic-rituals to achieve the goal. Today we are shouting about
social reforms, a society with peace and health. How can we achieve that
when we parents ourselves do not have the right thoughts about health and
peace. To give them a practical shape is to understand the
significance of this sanskar .
Now let us discuss about the effect of music
in pregnancy.
