                  Pregnancy - Relaxation

Relaxation:

Hope you would have read in other sections about stress. Emotional and physical stress triggers a cascade of steroidal hormones that damages our body. Understand that this holds good for the pregnant mother who not only damages her own body but also the kid's body. This is why ancient doctors advice pregnant mothers should be in a relaxed environment.  If the pregnant mother is stressed the kid that is born will have the same temperament. Every emotional surge the mother gets, she is exposing her kid to steroidal hormones.

It is good for the mother to be relaxed and at least before going to bed, should massage the stomach gently and express her love for the baby. While relaxing, she should feel that the child is healthy. Listening to good music and reading good books and spiritual books are good for the baby. The mother can give self relaxing suggestions to the baby or use guided relaxation methods. Priya while pregnant used to listen every night the relaxation tapes to help herself and the kid to relax. We now see the results in our son who reflects it.

Relaxation would also help the mother to have normal blood pressure, less birth complications, avoid premie babies and easy labor. It is a well known fact that during labor the more the  mother is relaxed better the contractions and less the labor pain. A mother cannot relax all of a sudden in the labor room. The best way is that she has to train herself well in advance to be in a relaxed pace not only during pregnancy but in fact even before that.

After the eighth month of pregnancy, the mother should give suggestions to the child, asking the child to help in normal delivery. This may sound crazy but when you try it, you will be surprised with the practical results. In our experience this auto suggestions during pregnancy and during labor has helped immensely many mothers.

Keeping the body and mind healthy, a mother should enjoy her pregnancy so that the child when born, will have a positive outlook in life.

Ancient approach

Though we give information from ancient Indian practices, this holds good for any person from any cultural background. Ancient people were really smart in incorporating these valuable facts through rituals. Many people dislike rituals because they do not understand the deep significance of it. In pregnancy care, ancient Indian rituals were observed for the good health of the mother and the child. It is a sad fact that over generations, mere performance of rituals ignoring the deeper significance, has lead to insignificant results. We will help you to discover how fabulous these rituals are to lead a life devoid of suffering.

Whatever we write will benefit anyone irrespective of their cultural or national background. You can incorporate these facts into your own tradition and reap the benefits.
