Kama Shastra -The Art and Science of
Sexual act
At this juncture we like to
talk a few words act of sex very beautifully described in kama-Shastra, the
Art and Science of sexual act. Like the other information, this is
also sadly widely mis-interpreted. Few decades back most of the modern
Indians said that the information given in Kama-shastra about avoiding Sex
and making women as untouchable is non-scientific.
Over
time we now understand that this ancient Science gave the correct
life-style information for the health of women. Having sex on menstrual days
increases sexual diseases , because the cervix (opening to uterus) is open
and easily accessible to micro-organism, increasing the chances of veneral
diseases.
Psychologically and physiologically women needs rest on the menstrual days.
Exerting these days, women stress a lot their mind and body, increasing the
chances of diseases like cancer, poor immunity and other ailments.
The Vedic
tradition, keeping the above health factor as the background and also to
avoid sexual advancement of the husband from the menstruating wife and also
to shun women from all house hold work and professional work, they were
labeled as impure, allowing women to have their monthly resting time
for good health.
Modern
women who have overthrown this custom by severely criticizing this ancient
system is increasingly seeing the rise of gynecological problems than
older generation women.
Our suggestion to women who plan for healthy
pregnancy, give some time as rest during the menstrual cycle.
Pre-mature ejaculation:
Pre-mature ejaculation and lack of sexual desire are some
of the problems that most couples tell us. Inspite of using harmful
medications like Viagra many couples fail in prolonged sexual
gratification. Where is the problem?. Problem lies in the state of the minds
of the couple engaged in the act.
Sexual act is a Yoga, union and is divine because
that is the gateway leading to the birth of a being. Vedic Tradition is the
only tradition that considers Sexual act as divine. In most of the
Indian Hindu temples, one could find the sculptures of Sexual act. This lead
to another mis-interpretation of Symbolic Vedic images like Linga as
Phallus.
