Infants
The foundation of the health of a kid is laid from the very first day when
the mother becomes pregnant. Both mother and father contribute equally to
the kid's health. Mother provides nourishment for the baby's mind and body's
growth right from the womb. Father indirectly provides nourishment for his
mind, by providing a peaceful family atmosphere. Stress of the mother
affects both the physical and mental health of the infant during and after
pregnancy. That also continues after delivery. Here we give information how
to continue health care of the new born infant through childhood.
After
delivery , the mother has to not only eat healthily to provide nourishment
to the infant through breast milk, but also avoid stress. If the
mother is stressful then the steroid hormones and its components will
flow through the milk from the mother to the kid.
All that we discuss here is based on traditional knowledge and from a
few scientific studies.
Water
water is as
important as mother's milk to infants. Give water every hour before or
after meals. This helps in digestion and maintains appetite in
kids. keeping the body well hydrated also prevents many infections. Dont
give water while eating solids. To induce digestion and good apetite
give water an hour before food and half an hour after food.
Giving water is the only best remedy for preventing constipation. Giving
water will not hurt the kid because excess water will be thrown out as
urine. In our experience we found that giving water decreased colds and
infection in kids.
Giving water in small quantities throughout the day is the only remedy
for healing eczema and other skin disorders. One has to understand that
the toxins in the body of the kid is the reason for all skin problems.
It is very important that the water should be boiled and given at room
temperature. A new born baby will not have immunity to fight against
un-sterilized water. So boiling water and also the containers (spoon and
bowl used to give water) is equally needed to give water in sterile
conditions.
Fluids from mothers milk is NOT enough for the kid. Water is water and
cannot be taken as just as fluid. This is a big mistake that lot of
mothers do. They think milk for kids will be equal to giving water. NO.
NO. NO. Water should be given even after the first day (few drops) and
after a week one teaspoon and slowly to more amounts as the kid grows.
